Take care of your watch!12 Feb 2008, Posted by Blog in
Our private label watches and all other brand name watches are without doubt one of the world’s smallest and most complicated mechanical objects. It has been designed to be worn on a regular basis, for many years. For it to maintain it’s precision and reliability. We advise you to mind the following (practical) guidelines.
What should I do to ensure that my private label watch continues for many years?
1. Magnetic fields:
Avoid placing your watch on speakers or refrigerators, since these have strong magnetic fields.
2. Bathing in the sea:
Always rinse your watch with warm water afterwards.
Whether thermal or other, avoid them.
Keep your watch clean. Dust and dirt tend to collect in gaps in the back of the case or band. Clean the watch occasionally. Metal bracelets and for all water resistant cases use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying.
5. Chemical products:
Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets.
Avoid extreme temperatures above 60 C or 140 F below 0 C or 32F or extreme temperature changes.
7. Crown and chronograph pushers.
Do not operate your watch under water in order to prevent water entering the mechanism.
Store your watch in a dry place when you are not using it. Be sure to use the watch with the crown pressed in (normal position).
An empty battery must be changed as soon as possible to avoid the risk of leakage and resulting damage to the watch mechanism.
Like any high-precision instruments, our private label watches needs to be serviced regularly in order to work perfectly. Obviously, we cannot indicate the intervals for such work, which depends on the model, climate and the care taken by the watch’s owner. As a general rule, service intervals are between 4 and 5 years, depending on the use of the watch.
